In the aftermath of last week’s assault near Eastern Market, the Metropolitan Police Department and Ward 6 Councilmember Tommy Wells have scheduled a Community Public Safety meeting next Tuesday, August 28, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Avenue SE). Unfortunately, violent crime and robberies are up this year across the Hill, including in Hill East. MPD First District Commander Daniel Hickson will provide an update on the assault investigation and MPD’s efforts to keep all of Capitol Hill safe.
