Attend March 12 Community Meeting on Future of NY Pizza Site

Another major development project is coming to Hill East! On Thursday, March 12, developer CAS Riegler will host a community meeting to discuss their initial plans for the current NY Pizza site (1401 Pennsylvania Ave SE). The meeting will begin at 7 pm at the Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Ave SE). Attendees will have an opportunity to share ideas and provide comments to the development team.

Note that this is a community meeting hosted by the developer. Any development plans for the site will likely come before ANC 6B later this year. You can read more about the developer and submit comments/ideas on the CAS Riegler website.

    Brian,

So what is happening with NY Pizza itself? Is it going out of business, changing location …?

Not sure. Certainly going out of business at this site. CAS Riegler may be able to answer that question definitively tomorrow night. Thanks for the question!

Commissioner, as an adjacent neighbor I hope to make it tomorrow. But if not I hope you or someone can ask about whether they plan to include 1433 into the project. CAS Riegler has created an LLC with 1433 Penn in the name, which I assume is to expand the scope of this project. It’s a complicated split zoned property so theyd probably prefer to deal with it during the BZA or PUD process. Also i hope they’re asked about and commit to using the existing curb cuts on Penn and 14th for any egress/ingress/loading and avoiding using the alley.
